Should you "cushion" Pastel Paper?

Recently we had a question about whether to "cushion" the pastel paper when you tape it to your board. If you have seen my pastel pencil tutorials then you will know that I secure my favourite ingres pastel paper with masking tape to a board. For me this is the best set up as pastel pencil works better on a hard surface. If I was to place something in between the board and the pastel paper, a few sheets of cartridge paper for instance, then there is a risk of the pencil going through the paper. You don't want all that hard work wasted! Here's a quick video that might help all those starting out. In this video I explain a selection of the art materials I use for pastel pencil work.
