Having a White Charcoal Pencil Up Your Sleeve

general-white-charcoal-pencil.jpg

general white charcoal pencilA little tool to have up your sleeve and a great addition to your set is a General Charcoal White Pencil (No. 558). When I was drawing the Eyes in our Free Portrait Course, I used it for the very fine detail in the eye. Because the pigmentation is higher, it really brings out the light. As always I used a Faber Castell Pitt Pastel Pencil 101 White mainly but brought in a touch of 558 Charcoal White to enhance it. It's a bit like having a sharpened Polychromos White Stick. You can get them from Amazon here for £2.87 and I'd highly recommend having one by your side.
