Guide Colours for a Teddy Bear

Hug Me Bear in Pastel Pencils by Colin BradleyRecently someone asked me about what pastel pencils I used in this painting I did of my wife Eileen's "Hug Me" Teddy Bear. I painted this picture at least 12 years ago and as I did not need to keep any records of colours I do not have them available. However I can give you a little guidance as to the possible colours  would have used for the ochre fur. All of these colours I reference are from the Faber-Castell Pitt Pastel Pencil range which I think are the best on the market. Almost certainly I would have used 103 ivory for the base colour in all but the darkest areas of the fur, then 182, 183, 179 and 177 for the darker areas. For the dark fur I would have stared with the 182 then 179 and 177 leaving out 183 and 103.I hope this helps, if you want to learn to draw pictures using pastel pencils, then check out my membership options.
